Photos are processed and discarded

A photo you take to identify a product or to earn is sent to our server, passed once to the vision model to read brand names, and dropped when the answer is sent. It is never stored, by us or in logs. For earning, we keep only a 64-bit perceptual hash of each frame (a fingerprint that cannot be turned back into the picture) so the same picture cannot earn twice.

Barcodes

Barcodes are read on your phone. Only the digits reach our server, which asks the Open Food Facts databases. The camera video never leaves your device when you scan a barcode.

Your shelf

The list of what you scanned stays in your browser (local storage). Clear it from the shelf at any time.

Wallet and earning

If you sign in with a Solana wallet (one signed message, no transaction), we keep its public address in a session cookie. For each earning snap we store: the wallet address, the brand and company found, the reward, the time, a random device id cookie, a salted hash of your IP address (never the address itself) and the frame hashes. These are used for the caps, the weekly fraud review and the payouts. The home page shows the last accepted snaps of the week with the wallet shortened (first and last four characters), the brand, the xStock and its dollar value: never a photo, a position or a store.

Third parties

Open Food Facts and Wikidata receive the barcode or brand you look up, from our server. The vision model provider receives earning and photo frames. A Solana RPC node receives our reads of your wallet's balance; Jupiter receives buy quotes and the transactions you choose to sign; your country comes from Vercel's network (to switch xStocks off in the US) and is not stored. The site is hosted on Vercel.
